Whether your pet only rides in your car or truck occasionally, goes to work with you every day, or you consider yourself the proud parent of a fur-baby that rides along wherever you go… pet hair in your car can be a problem. The following are a list of the best ways to remove pet hair from your car…

Professional Washing

The following tips are perfect for the do-it-yourselfers but nothing, NOTHING, will get rid of your pets hair more than a professional wash or detailing job but a reputable car/truck washing professional.

Vacuum

This is probably the first thing you will try. You can try this at the car wash and use the attachment to get into those hard to reach nooks and crannies .

Velcro

Velcro can work wonders for removing pet hair. If you have a set of Velcro rollers this is a simple process that only involves running, or rolling, the curler over the surface area. This method works best on sturdier materials such as carpeting/flooring. This way can be used on upholstery, but you should try out the curler on a small test area to make sure that it won’t snag the fabric or make it pill.

Rubber Glove

Put on a pair of dry rubber gloves and run your hand over the carpeting and seats. Making sure to move your hand in only one direction. If you choose this option, it’s good to get the ones with nubs on the palm side of the glove.

Balloon

For loose hair this is a great idea. In the same way that an inflated balloon will make your hair stand on end. The static electricity the balloon creates will pick up any loose hair that may be hanging around your car.

Duct Tape

Duct tape and packing tape can be effective for removing those pesky pet hairs stuck to the vehicles fabric. Save the lint roller for your clothes. Start by winding the tape around your hand with the adhesive side out and then press it firmly into the cars fabric.

Dryer Sheets

Arm yourself with a fresh, unused dryer sheet to effortlessly remove pet hair from all surfaces of your car. No need for water or any other solution. Just run the dryer sheet over the surface of the seats, flooring, and console to pick up dust and pet hair.

Brush Your Pet More

The easiest way to minimize the amount of pet hair in your car is to give your dog or cat a good brushing on a regular basis. Not only does this brushing remove dirt, debris, and dead hair from being tracked in your car, but it’s good for their skin and fur as well.
